BMA to produce its fourth UA VIP video

by | May 3, 2023

The United Association Veterans in Piping program has selected BMA Media Group to produce the program’s next video.

The UA VIP program equips military service members who are preparing to leave the service with free training courses over 118 days to teach them basic pipe trades skills. Transitioning active-duty military service members on military bases across the country are eligible to participate and earn industry-recognized certifications, as they gain direct entry into the UA’s registered apprenticeship program in an agreed-upon geographical area. All program graduates are also guaranteed jobs with a UA signatory contractor.

With nine programs operating on seven military bases year-round, it has become difficult for the UA VIP administrators to have meaningful conversations with every applicant about their future with the UA.

To help combat this issue, the International Training Fund, the training arm of the United Association, signed a contract with BMA to produce a video that will be a required prerequisite for potential participants to watch before each student interviews to join the program.

BMA Media’s Emmy award-winning video department previously produced three other videos for UA VIP:

As is the case with all of BMA’s video production work, an all-union crew will conduct interviews, shoot content and edit the video.

BMA Media will begin to work on the new video in the coming weeks. Once finished, it will help answer some of the more frequently asked questions by transitioning military members and help them better understand what is expected and how the program will directly benefit them – now and into the future. It will help them to decide if they want to become a VIP student and future member of the UA.

Since 2015, BMA and UA VIP have worked together on multiple efforts, including a website redesign, digital recruitment campaigns, on-base promotions, development of supporting program materials and the three previous video projects.
