A little about this project
The Central Ohio jurisdiction for the Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers (HFIAW) Local 50 was in the early stages of a building boom when they reached out to BMA Media Group for help. The leaders had an immediate need for additional union Mechanical Insulators, and that was before numerous regional mega projects were slated to begin.
BMA worked with Local 50 to develop a comprehensive recruitment campaign to organize non-union insulators, find more apprentice candidates and improve communication with HFIAW “Travelers” willing to temporarily relocate to work on the major projects.
A combination of digital and traditional recruitment services were implemented, along with updates to the Local’s website and video production work. In less than six months, the Local had increased its membership by nearly 20 percent, but with BMA’s assistance, the Local believes it can double its size in less than two years.
